Subject: Come Dancing in Sequence

Hi Patti & Tony

I thought you may be interested to know that I have just uploaded our review of your recent CD to our website at http://sequencedancecds.googlepages.com/home.html.  We were delighted by your CD as you will see.  I would be most grateful if you could check the details I have entered on the links page.  Please advise me if there are any errors.  Similarly with the description details of your CD under the "Patti Bond & Tony Gilbert" page.  If there are any changes you would like us to make to the title/descriptive data at the top of the table please let us know.  I certainly hope this CD won't be your last.  One comment made to me was that with CDs like yours, what other sequence dance CDs do we need!

Kind regards from NZ
ANYONE CAN LEARN HOW TO DANCE VOTED #1
Hi Patti & Tony

The NZ Modern Classical Sequence Dancing Federation (NZMCSDF) puts out a "Sequence Hotline" newsletter to all its members every couple of months or so.  I regularly write a "Music Box" item which reviews new CDs for this newsletter.  I thought you might be interested in the following extract from my "Music Box" item to be included in the January 2009 edition.

........  Following my mother’s advice I’ve kept the best new release until last: Tony Gilbert’s “Anyone Can Learn To Dance” released by New Vogue Music.  All 24 tracks contained good music, five being very good, and two very, very good (a Samba and a Tango).  The very very good Samba (“Punta Langosta”) was Tony’s own composition as was one of the New Vogue Waltzes (“Anyone Can Learn HowTo Dance”).  One pleasing aspect of the CD was that all tracks were a standard six sequences long except for the New Vogue Waltzes and Sambas which were eight sequences long.  All these sequence lengths are ideal and ensure that the dancer is neither short-changed nor over-exerted.  The only comparatively minor faults with the CD are with track 3, a Foxtrot, which is not in phase at one point; and tracks 12 and 19 where the tempos are given as 54 and 52 rather than the actual 53 and 54 bpm.  This is the second CD produced by Tony and his wife Patti Bond, a singer and entertainer in Australia.  I have not heard their first CD “When You Taught Me How To Dance” but if it’s as good as this one it should be worth having.  I understand from Tony that he produces vocal versions of his CDs, with Patti as the singer, but has found that dancers are not too keen on vocal CDs.  Certainly there is an art in producing good vocal CDs.  Anyone interested in purchasing Tony’s CD(s) can do so through www.newvoguemusic.com.  I imagine that as Tony and Patti’s reputation spreads their CDs will eventually be marketed through Maestro.

Hopefully, you will see some more orders for your CD(s) once the January issue of "Sequence Hotline" has been distributed.

Enjoy the coming Festive season

Colin

Tony,
Once again you have produced a winner with your new C D. The music is superb ,you should have no trouble selling it to the most discerning of dancers and teachers. Margaret and I both enjoyed it immensely. You both should be proud of your achievements in such a short time.
